BIOCONVERSION

In Vietnam since 2014, Entobel supplies the SEA and International agriculture and aquaculture markets with high-quality, cost-efficient and sustainable proteins and fertilizers, all thanks to one incredible insect, the Black Soldier Fly (hermetia illucens).

Using BSL fly larvae fed on existing organic waste, Entobel has developed and tested a new large source of natural protein.

Discover a cheaper and healthier alternative to traditional protein farming, and let’s change together the way we eat and use our Earth’s natural resources.

Why

Black Soldier Fly (BLS) PROTEIN

Let’s work together for a sustainable future.

Competitive

Producing insects requires much less investment than the cultivation of so-called “traditional” proteins. More economical in space, energy, food and water, insect farming offers far more affordable costs than their equivalent in fish or cereals. Thanks to the perfect climatic and economical conditions of Vietnam, we keep our prices low and stable all year-round, while maintaining a high quality standard for all our products

Sustainable

Since insect farming is more economical, it is therefore greener for the planet! Black Soldier Flies are praised for their virtually non-existent impact on the environment. By choosing the insect alternative over traditional protein production, you work for a more ethical and responsible world, fighting against over fishing, deforestation, GHG emissions and the waste of clean water.

Functional

The applications of biomass conversion are diverse. First, the breeding of the flies’ larvae makes for protein-rich powders and oils that will feed all farm and aquatic animals. These products have been thoroughly tested and are proved to have great nutritional value and beneficial effects on animal health. Secondly, the production byproducts are recycled in order to create organic fertilizers which will enrich all types of soil for agriculture.

Input

The bioconversion process takes organic raw materials from food factories, supermarkets, farms and restaurants, and recycles these to feed the Black Soldier Flies.

Egg Production

With the source of food, the BSF are now in the proper environment to mate and mass produce eggs.

Larva Rearing

Once hatched, larvae are reared in mass in natural and closely monitored soils. They are kept at the right conditions and temperature, and we make sure they get what they need.

Harvesting

After around 10 days, the larvae have reached their optimal size, having increased their weight over 200 times. They are then harvested.

Processing

Finally, larvae are dried and ready for fat extraction. Oil, powder and compost are produced.

Applications

The Future of Feed & Culture

Animal Feed

Insect proteins are a natural source of food for all farm animals and even pets, unlike industrial fish or soy derivatives. Whether you need to feed cattle, pigs, chickens or others, choose the healthier insect-alternative for reduced risks and costs. Products made from BSF contain all necessary nutrients for your livestock, possess immuno stimulant properties and are rich in lipids, protein, and calories.

Aquaculture

In a region like Southeast Asia where fish production is very high, food for fish, shrimp and other seafood is a major issue. Here again, feeding these sea animals with insect proteins means choosing ecological responsibility, while respecting their natural diet. The insect diet is proven to preserve the taste of all sea creatures, even for the most delicate ones such as trouts and salmons.

Agriculture

Producing insects not only means investing in a high protein value for animals, but also collecting high-quality fertilizers rich in beneficial micro-organisms, for organic crops, guaranteed to be free of chemicals and pesticides. Our fertilizers made from BSF byproducts are intended for all types of soils. Use them on cereal crops, to grow fruits and vegetables, for arboriculture/viticulture, and even in your own garden.
